Editorial Content Analysis

Halls' methodology of magazine analysis has benefited from over 60 years of experience, but remains cutting edge in execution. Our classification system is evaluated and enhanced every year. Key features of the analysis include:

  • Data is disseminated via a specially designed web based data retrieval system. On-line data access provides the fastest and most convenient access to the Hall's database. Clients are assigned private passwords in order to gain entry to the data site.

Beauty and Fashion Credit Reports

Beauty and Fashion credits appear only in the editorial pages of magazines. In order to qualify for a credit the name of the brand must appear. Each mention is identified as Cover, Visual, Text or Well. The Beauty Credits are categorized by Cosmetics, Fragrance, Hair or Skin. The Fashion Credits are categorized by Clothing, Accessories, Footwear, Jewelry and Watches. Further clarification indicates whether the brand is Prestige or Mass. One of the reports include the page numbers. This information is accumulated on a monthly and year-to-date basis.

Home Credit Report

The Home Credits appear in the editorial pages of Shelter magazines. Each mention is identified as Text, Visual or Well. Some of the categories captured are: Home(Furniture, Tabletop, Lamps, Kitchen, Textiles), Travel, Fashion, Arts & Antiques. This information is gathered on a monthly and year-to-date basis. The monthly report indicates the page number.

Travel Credit Report

The Travel Credits appear in the editorial pages of Travel magazines. Some of the categories captured are: Accessories, Apparel, Airlines, Spas, Cruises, Hotels(Domestic), Hotels(Foreign), Retail(Domestic), Retial(Foreign), Wine, etc. This information is gathered on a monthly and year-to-date basis. The monthly report indicates the page number.
